Welcome to PLanet Earth

My son and I were out for a drive yesterday. We glanced over at a cow standing at the edge of the field. Suddenly a calf fell out her back end. We looked at each other quite surprised. It all seemed so un ceramonial. Just MOO and Splash...Welcome to planet earth!

Sturgeon River Spring Canoe Trip

I had an amazing weekend! I left Toronto at 4:30pm last Friday, and headed up to Sturgeon Falls to visit my friend MIke. Just outside of Parry Sound I saw my first moose of the year. It was standing on the side of the road and people were pulling over to take pictures. When I got to my turnoff, I pulled over and put the roof down on my convertable. What an amazing drive! The scenery was breath taking. I got to my buddies place around 9. We hit the sack early because we had a weekend of canoeing ahead of us. Last weekend, the lakes were still frozen, but this weekend they were open. We did a lake adventure on Lake Muskasing on Saturday Morning. Then on Sunday morning we did a canoe run down Sturgeon River. You can see the satellite image of the stretch we paddled. Again, the scenery was spectacular. I fell in love with this river. The river twists and turns for miles and miles. You can see by the picture, there are lots of "oxbows". An oxbow is a section of river that becomes orphaned from the main river. The oxbow remains as a small lake. My buddy Mike and I almost bought a 160 acre piece of property on the Sturgeon last year. During our canoe trip...we wished we did! I am going to keep my eye on this region, as I would love to relocate there. It would be about a 40 minute drive to North Bay. Oh and I saw another moose. Magnificent animals! I will return on the long May weekend and see how the black flies are......that could spell the end of a dream!

Farts Games are Dangerous!

OK..so I find farts funny. I know what you are thinking and thats OK, because I know you have a secret obsession for fart things too! I was surfing the net and came across a big red sign. Its Said "TO HEAR THE SOUND OF A FART, PRESS HERE" Well I wanted to, and I knew it, but, I restrained my self....until I read the fine print which said..."go ahead, you know you want to" Well that was it. I pressed that button!..... and what happened?
I DONT KNOW BECAUSE I'M STILL ON DIALUP!

Spoiled Rotton

I drive a long way to work. My 97 Stratus hit 250,000 km and has cost me in lost work and repairs over the last few months. My son is working full time in town which is only about 15k. So, he has inherited the stratus, and I bought a new car. Well not exactly new. Its a 2000 Sebring convertable. It only has 85,000 Kms and it is immaculate. As the story goes, it was owned by an elderly gentleman....but I actually beleive it to be true. I've always wanted a convertable. Dylan and I rented one in California for a week. Last time my car broke down, my mechanic loaned me his. I knew it had to be. So I started scouring the internet and found this one up in Waterloo. The boss gives me a car allowance and I was able to swing the payments so they equal the allowance. I am spoiled rotton....haha my wife said to me "Is this your mid life crisis car?" I said NO! Its the car that going to take me to my midlife crisis...You aint seen nothing yet!......and I'm still spoiled rotton

suddenly I felt dirty

Suddenly I felt very dirty,
taking about another mans faith.
Making comments as if I knew
as if I knew.
Suddenly I felt dirty

Hanni...I hope you read this

Thankyou for the card. It brightened my day. PLease please write me again. I cherish your letters. I am so proud of you. I continue to have an unconditional love for you. Please do not feel that you have hurt me. I wish you all success and joy and someday our correspondance will resume. Maybe not today, or tommorrow or even next year. Whenever you are comfortable is OK with me. You are NOT to blame for problems that I experienced. Someday we can talk about it. Until then, hold your head up high knowing that you are precious an irreplaceable in my heart.

Bad Judgement? Poor Taste?

I have an email list of my clients that I regularly send email blasts too. I usually include a funny picture with my email as well as technical tips and special pricing notification. My clients have come to enjoy my humerous approach to sales. Well I think I might have crossed the boundaries of good taste. I received a phone call from one concerned client. She was offended. I appologized for my insult in her eyes. I then sent her an email apology explaining that I was actually a Christian and meant no harm. I asked for her to forgive me. I have not had a response yet. Here is what I posted.......Go ahead...tell me how you feel.
In this age of mobility, the all new Easter Phone brings a whole new meaning to
“pick up your cross and follow me” The only thing I would suggest is if your phone rings
And the Call Display Picture comes up looking like this….you’d better listen!

I then discussed some business stuff and finished up with....

So there you have it……
ring ring
Oh oh its you know who on the cross phone!...gtg

Oh My...what a hornets nest! One client was quick to email saying that it didnt offend him but he would advise me NOT to do one on Mohamed!

Magnificent Journey

Sue and I took a little drive on the south shore of Lake Erie. We had a Lake Erie Perch dinner at Port Stanley. We then hugged the lakeshore and drove from Port Stanley to Niagara Falls. What a great drive. We were amazed at the beauty. We walked the cold and frozen beaches at Long POint and Crystal Beach. It was very cold, but beautiful all the same. As we pulled through Niagara Falls, I suggested we should spend the night. Sue is way to practical and suggested we should drive home and sleep in our own bed. I asked her to stay with the car because I just wanted to "check the view" from the Marriott. Well I was a sucker for romance and I got the most magnificent room. We had a king size bed, Jacuzzi and fireplace. It was stunning. Here is a pic of Sue overlooking the Falls. We went out for dinner and ate at the Keg on the 9th floor. Again the view was spectacular! It was like a dream come true. I got to strike off two items from the "things I want to do before I die" list. One: Lake Erie Perch Dinner and Two: Falls view romantic getaway. We even got up at 6:30 am so we could watch the sun rise above the falls.
I learned a few things too!
1. Lake Erie Perch is not as good as Lake Simcoe Perch
2. The sand blows and drifts just like snow
3. There are miles of windmills along the Erie shore
4. It only takes two Martinis to get this lightweight drunk
5. I want to buy the bed from the Marriott. I couldnt find the manufacturer name but I want one! Its time to give up on my waterbed
6. I have the most amazing wife
7. I dont deserve all these things

Advice from Anon Friend

DW...this is also why you shouldn't abandon your blog. If your blog was just about putting on the happy stuff then it wasn't real. I always had the sense that it was true to what was going on in your life, good and bad. Get back on and share with others. They'll share back. I'm sure help, even in the hard times, will go both ways.

I dropped my blog for a whole pile of reasons. I also found myself with a pile of excusses. To be honest, I'm dazed and Confused. I have some struggles and trials that have shaken my understanding of what it means to be a christian living in a very unperfect world....imperfect...under perfect...lessthan perfect...whatever....FALLEN yes thats it. I have also found that those who seem to have it together are more fallen than the next. Shamefully I lump myself with this crowd, as Paul says...a chief offender.

So I guess I am taking the advice that I have heard form so many people. I have returned to the blog world. PLease have some patience as I'm not sure what commitment level I have.

Thankyou to those who have lifted me up in my troubled time.
