Canoe Purist Fighting the Fight

I met this fellow Bob on my blogspot. As it turns out, we kinda know each other in a round about way. We both attended the Changing of the Seasons Ceremony last September up on Lake Obabika. While my attendance was an accidental blessing, I imagine his was planned. He is a canoe purist and this is one of the most beautiful places on earth to canoe.

Well Bob made a comment on my blog so I followed the link to his blogspot http://neverfeltbetter.blogspot.com/ . There I learned that Bob is fighting and winning a battle with cancer. I have read now about his bravery and his strength and his courage.

I also found that he is participating in "The Ride To Conquer Cancer". On the site, Bob explains "The RCC is a 200 km, 3000 person cycling fundraiser from Toronto to Niagara Falls. Funds raised support ground-breaking research at the Princess Margaret Hospital. Without a doubt, I am alive today because of research like this."

My father died of cancer 20 some odd years ago. I am told that with todays knowledge, my father would still be alive. I am aware of the Princess Margaret Hospital as being a very important research and treatment facility. I visited my dad there on many occassions.

Bob is riding in this fundraiser and he has a financial goal...a target. It sure would be nice for him to acheive that goal. So I followed the link to the donation page and made a donation. Here is the link. Perhaps if you stop and consider how cancer has affected your life, you could join in and help to make a differance. It doesnt have to be a large donation. ..... every little bit helps. There is strength in numbers. PLease go here to join the fight http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Toronto2009?px=1502877&pg=personal&fr_id=1261

If nothing else, go to the site and read. It is a fascinating story of hope. Then if you wouldnt mind, pray for Bob. Pray for our doctors and researchers. Give thanks for the wonderful blessings we have despite trials and adversities.

love
