Emerald Lake Swan - Sacred Temagami Trout

This trumpeter swan landed in Emerald Lake this year.

I honoured it in this small painting

  1. Just a suggestion, it might feel better to the viewer if the "fins" are attached to the fish......it appears that the fish is going through a surgery of some sorts. Like the fish cannot swim on his own....it needs outside help to swim by itself. I hope you take this as constructive and encouraging rather than in a distasteful manner.......just a point of view from humble ol' me.......MAJ.......2009!

  2. In many ways this is true. These particular fish are under seige as it were and heavy rules and laws have been put in place to help protect. There is somewhat of a battle. The Temagami Trout had been a mainstay and important food source for the Temagami Peoples.

I'm glad you noticed the "disjunction".

I will never take your comments as negative for I know that nurturance is at your heart and I appreciate the guidance.
