We paddled up to Sandy Falls via one of the side tributaries and then portaged over to the river. The current was strong and the wall of water was aboiut 6 feet high. We watched as a Bald Eagle flew overhead with a pike in its mighty talons. We hooked up to a 50 foot log and paddled it into the rapids and rode it all the way home. We will dry it up and make some furniture with it. We want some Muskoka Chairs and we decided to make them out of our own wood. The fellow down the road has a saw mill and my neighbour has an awesome wood shop. We Fished for what the locals call Barbot (catfish) that evening and had ourselves a midnight fish fry.
