Sturgeon River Shore Lunch

What a beautiful Thanksgiving Saturday! We put the boat back in the water, and planned a little shore lunch excursion. The water was low enough at Sandy Falls to run the rapids and adventure upstream to new places.

We packed the boat with all the essentials

I set up a nice comfy chair for Sue

We stopped at the mountain for an hour or so, just soaking up the views and the sun.

We headed up stream to find a dinner spot

We went above the abandoned railway line

and found a great spot for a fire and shore dinner

It sure is beautiful to hear the rapids and bask in the sun

We had potatoes and Whitefish.

We watched the last of the sun fall below the treeline, and headed on home

This little shore dinner was just a practice run for our Thanksgiving Shore Dinner. A few of us are going to set up at Sandy Falls for the day. We will serve Moose Steaks and Walleye along with garden veggies and home made cranberry sauce.
We have a shore lunch kit setup now, so events like this will be easy. We have about a month before the river freezes over and plan on taking full advantage of it!

Blessings of Thanksgiving and Peace to you and yours!
