Wear the Fox Hat

I told a freind that I was heading to Verner this weekend. He said "wear the fox hat" I'm not sure why. Do fox hats scare away the black flies?

    Or could it be fox season? If you hear the far of sound of horns, dogs barking, and the beating of horse hooves - quick ditch the hat!
