2012

2012 was a great year. As I sit here pondering, it is difficult to find a highlight. So many great things happened.

I had a great year fishing, hunting and gathering. I did some ATV and snowmobile riding and spent a lot of time in a cabin in the bush.

Artistically, I began line drawing and doodling in an attempt to get to basics with my art and to establish a "me". I was able to unleash and envision many creative things. I want to enroll in a winter water color art course this year. I need to work on technicalities.

Musically I heard the call and posted an ad in Kijiji which has proven very fruitful. I got hooked up with some musicians and look forward to a new year with lots of music. I want to start a band. I found a great guitar/mandolin player and have the notion that I may need to go buy a bass guitar again. My last one was stolen just before leaving my hometown.

The river is frozen over but not quite enough ice to run the snow machines and not enough to support our ice huts....but soon!

My daughter is here for a visit and she is moving into a beach house in North Bay. Its a beautiful spot right on the lake with a big sandy beach. haha although now there is a lot of snow. I am going to lend them my ice shack and she has a snow mobile. They look forward to some pickerel dinners!

There is a community gathering/bon fire tonight at the end of our street. We want to ice skate at the neighbours and we are having fondue.

I am thinking about many people right now. Hi Brenda..its been a long time. I trust you are well? You are a princess. There are so many people that have touched my life. Though there is much joy, there is also much pain. Many friends are going through struggles, myself included.

From my heart, I wish you all the best for 2013!

praying for Cindy

"praying for Cindy" don wright 2012

My friend Cindy has been undergoing chemo therapy and reached the point where the pain and effects became unbearable. She asked for all her friends to pray for her. She felt that her strength was not enough. All her friends have been praying and I made this prayer doodle to focus my own prayer.
I call upon the Father, the Son and the Great Holy Spirit. I lay my hands on Cindy and pray. She is anointed with flowers and the fragrance is comforting. The flowers flow over her head and her beauty shines. Her husband and life companion sits by her side. He is powerful yet feels powerless. I pray for complete restoration of body. I pray for Pete as he stands by Cindy. I pray that our voices together will bring comfort and feed faith.
Once a prayer doodle is complete, I continue to use it for prayer. It stands as a testament to our relationship and hope in the one who has all power and glory. With voices, with song, with prayer, with letters and drawings and pictures and everything else we can express......we continue to pray and stand by our sister.
